Capdle is a game where you photograph everyday objects. To play it, the app has to send your photos to a server. This page says exactly what leaves your phone, where it goes, how long it stays, and how to get it deleted. There is no account, no advertising, and nothing is sold.
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you take in the app | To name the object and score your guess. Each photo is reduced to about 512 pixels and sent to our server, which sends it to Google's Gemini API for recognition. | Up to 7 days on our server, so we can fix recognition problems people report. Then deleted. |
| A device identifier | Your games and your run are tied to it instead of to an account. On iPhone it is Apple's identifier for vendor; on Android it is the Android ID for this app. A second random id is created on install so a reinstall can keep your history. | As long as you have game history. |
| Game data | Your guesses, their results, the days you opened the app, and rooms you host or join (with the nickname you type). | As long as you have game history. Rooms and the host's photo sticker expire after 24 hours. |
| Request logs | Each request to our server is logged with the time, your device identifier, your IP address, the city and region our hosting provider derives from it, your phone model, OS version and app version, and the outcome. We use these to find and fix problems. | 30 days. |
| A push notification token | Only if you allow notifications. Used to send you Capdle notifications. | Until you turn notifications off or uninstall. |
| Your email address | Only if you type it into the box on our website. Used for one message when the app is released. | Until that message is sent, or until you ask us to remove it. |
The app does not use your photo library, contacts, precise location, or any advertising or analytics SDK. It does not track you across other apps or websites.
Nobody else. We don't sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
When you host a room, the photo sticker of the object you chose and the nickname you type are shown to people you send the link to. When you join a room, the host and other players can see your nickname and your guesses. Rooms end after 24 hours.
Capdle is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has used the app, email us and we'll delete the data.
Deleting the app removes your local stickers and settings. To have your server data deleted, email justin@bokuga.com from the phone in question, or include the device identifier shown in the app under Settings, and we'll remove your games, logs, photos, and push token within 30 days.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will point you here.
